COURSE OBJECTIVES

To equip participants with the skills to develop a brief, proposal and quotation (BPQ) for a design project in the Creative Industries.


WHAT DO YOU ACHIEVE?

Participants having successfully completed this program will be able to:


» Identify and evaluate information required for the formulation of a brief, proposal and quotation for design and design services.

» Investigate and rationalise design problems and issues for development of a brief, proposal and quotation.

» Develop the structure and content for documentation of design project information in a brief, proposal and quotation.

» Negotiate fee proposal, proposal terms and obtaining client's approval of proposal, quotation and effect service appointment.


COURSE DURATION & STRUCTURE

2 x sessions at 9 hours per session

(Total of 18 hours)


COURSE CONTENTS

• Identify and   evaluate information   required for the   formulation of a   brief, proposal and   quotation for design   and design services

• Identify the target   audience, their   needs, problems   and issues to be   addressed by the   design solutions

• Gather, analyse   and establish client   information and   objectives from the   project brief to   better understand   target audience

• Evaluate the project   implementation   process to   determine scope of   service, service fees   and develop   proposal terms   structure

• Investigate and   rationalise design   problems and issues   for development of a   brief, proposal and   quotation

• Rationalise the   economic and   commercial viability of   the design solution

• Develop fee structure,   preliminary   specifications and   strategic alternative   approaches to the   design solution

• Develop fee structure,   preliminary   specifications and   strategic alternative   approaches to the   design solution

• Determine the scope   of services and the   corresponding service   fees

• Identify the   techniques /   approaches to   investigate the factors   that influence the   design solution

• Develop the   structure and   content for   documentation of   design project   information in a   brief, proposal   and quotation

• Design the layout   for the proposal   in the appropriate   style, format and   language

• Identify the   critical elements   of the brief and   developing the   structure and   content to   document the   design project   information

• Develop the   structure of the   proposal in   accordance to   house-rule

• Negotiate fee   proposal,   proposal terms   and obtain   client's approval   of proposal,   quotation and   effect

• Prepare   presentation of   the proposal and   quotation

• Present and   negotiate the   proposal and   quotation to   obtain client's   approval and   effect service   appointment
