The Academic and Examination Board
The Academic Board is the principal policy-making and advisory body on all matters relating to and affecting the School¡¯s teaching, research and educational programmes. It presides over strategic planning and management processes and thus upholds academic quality and integrity, determining the educational character and mission of the School.
To ensure that academic standards and fair practices set by the Academic Board are rigorously maintained, the Examination Board takes responsibility for the development, proper implementation and review of all examination and assessment procedures.
The Academic and Examination Board meets at regularly scheduled intervals or when necessary to discuss and implement any issues brought to its attention. It comprises the following members:

TAY CHOK LENG, TIGER

After attaining a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Design from the University of Canberra, Mr. Tay went on to work on many prestigious commercial and residential projects in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Shanghai and has since gained over 20 years of valuable professional experience in the interior design industry. Since 2004, Mr. Tay has been frequently invited to sit on the judging panel at the annual International Furniture Fair in Singapore, and is a regular public speaker at design seminars all over Asia.
Mr. Tay believes that industry experience is crucial to a student¡¯s design education and the School¡¯s close links with successful international design practitioners who provide students with in-house skills-based training that complements their study testify to his leadership philosophy. As a result, Inspiration¡¯s students have progressed quickly to win numerous gold and merit awards in national furniture and product design competitions in the course of their study.

WILLIAM POH TIAN HOCK

Mr. Poh graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 1991 and was admitted to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Singapore as an Advocate & Solicitor in 1992.
Mr. Poh commenced partnership of William Poh & Partners on 1 April 1995 after chambering with a few law firms. He further expanded his law firm with additional partners, and renamed it as William Poh & Louis Lim on 1 April 2001.
Mr. Poh practises in the areas of conveyancing and corporate matters. He advised a Singapore-Taiwan alliance on the acquisition of factories in Lishui County, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province for the purposes of a long-term lease to a German multi-national company based in Singapore. He has also provided legal advice for other joint ventures Singapore and Vietnam.
Mr. Poh¡¯s expertise also includes intellectual property practice.

Ms. Ho is a qualified architect who has managed a full range of residential, commercial, institutional and landscape projects, as well as designed proposals for open competitions/bids.
She graduated with a Bachelor and Master in Architecture from the National University of Singapore in 2001 and 2005 respectively and has been registered with the Board of Architects since 2008. Her expertise in AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit 8.1, Adobe Photoshop and Sketchup, in addition to knowledge of Illustrator, Pagemaker and Dreamweaver has given her the competitive edge in the fast-paced design industry.

BARRY ROANTREE

Dr. Roantree is a qualified architect (Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects) with private practice experience and over 30 years of experience as a consultant for architectural and interior design projects, business development as well as education and training. He obtained his PhD in Environmental Design and specialises in residential, commercial and retail design, space planning, project management, furniture and interior architecture.
Dr. Roantree recently retired as the Dean of Canberra Institute of Technology¡¯s Design Faculty and is now the senior academic advisor to Inspiration Design International School, the chair of the School¡¯s Committee of Academic Advisors, and a member of Inspiration¡¯s Committee of Business Advisors. Dr. Roantree has worked with Mr Tay Chok Leng since 1998 to develop the teaching capacity of the school.
